Als DJ und lokaler Veranstalter in 2005 gestartet, hat Nikos Nikiforos aliasASTAMATITOS in den zurückliegenden Jahren nunmehr über 160 Konzerte, 17 Tourneen und zwei Festivals in Deutschland und Europa erfolgreich organisiert und durchgeführt. In dieser Zeit hat sich seine Agentur ASTAMATITOS World Music längst einen Ruf als verlässlicher, ehrlicher und professioneller Partner für Kulturevents erarbeitet und sich als unabhängige Konzert-, Tournee- und Booking-Agentur im Bereich Reggae und Weltmusik etabliert.
Um die nötige Qualität zu gewährleisten, vermittelt ASTAMATITOS World Music ausschließlich professionelle Musiker und lediglich eine kleine (aber sehr feine) Auswahl an Künstlern. Zu den Bands im aktuellen Artist Roster gehörenLOCOMONDO, IMAM BAILDI, MARAVEYAS ILEGÁL, EISVOLEAS & THE TEDD’S, ONE DROP FORWARD, LA CASA BANCALE sowie TRALALKA.
Zudem hat ASTAMATITOS World Music sein Portfolio erst kürzlich um die fantastische Kleinkunst- und Kabarett-Gruppe OPERA CHAOTIQUE erweitern können. Darüber hinaus kann ASTAMATITOS World Music auf ein breites Netzwerk von Veranstaltern, Locations, und Medienvertretern zurückgreifen, mit denen in der Vergangenheit bereits erfolgreich zusammengearbeitet wurde. Hierzu zählt beispielsweise der Radiosender WDR Funkhaus Europa.
Besonders fokussiert ist ASTAMATITOS World Music auf Künstler der griechischen Weltmusik-Szene, da die Agentur für lange Zeit der einzige Veranstalter für derartige Musik aus Griechenland war. Abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade, welche griechische Popstars vor nahezu ausschließlich griechischem Publikum in Deutschland bereits begehen, hat die Agentur somit jungen Künstlern ein neues Publikum eröffnet (…und einem jungen wie alten Publikum neue Künstler vorgestellt). Durch den kulturellen Austausch sollen auf diese Weise nicht nur Landes- und Genregrenzen überwunden werden. In Zeiten der sogenannten Krise soll mit den Begegnungen nicht zuletzt auch der aufgeheizten Rhetorik und den spaltenden Umtrieben zahlreicher Mainstream-Medien und Politiker sowie der damit einhergehenden Entsolidarisierung der Menschen ein deutliches Zeichen entgegengesetzt werden.

Having started in 2005 as a DJ and local promoter, in the last ten years Nikos Nikiforos alias ASTAMATITOS has successfully organized and carried out over 160 concerts, 17 tours and two festivals in Germany and Europe. During this period, his agency ASTAMATITOS World Music has established itself as an independent concert- & booking-agency with a focus on Reggae and World Music and earned a reputation as a reliable, honest and professional partner.
To provide for the expected quality, ASTAMATITOS World Music represents solely professional musicians and only a small - but exquisite - selection of artists and bands. The current artist roster includes LOCOMONDO, IMAM BAILDI, MARAVEYAS ILEGÁL, EISVOLEAS & THE TEDD’S, ONE DROP FORWARD, LA CASA BANCALE and TRALALKA. Additionally, with the signing of the fabulous OPERA CHAOTIQUE, ASTAMATITOS World Musicwas able to strengthen its portfolio with a very unique crossover cabaret show. Further, ASTAMATITOS World Music is able to resort to a wide network of promoters, locations and media representatives which has been formed by previous successful collaborations. These include, for instance, the radio stationWDR Funkhaus Europa.
ASTAMATITOS World Music places a special focus on artists from the Greek world music scene, being the only promoter inthis very special domain for quite a long time. While Greek pop and mainstream artists already toured Germany, playing almost merely for the Greek community, the agency has provided young Greek artists with the possibility to attract a new audience (…and introduced fresh music to the people outside Greece). The resulting encounters do not just overcome national and genre borders. In times of the so-called crisis, these encounters are also supposed to counter the heated and splitting rhetoric of mainstream media and politicians which erodes the solidarity among people.
