Eisvoleas was born on 12th of February as Ilias Papanikolos in Kalamata and he grew up in Kypseli, Athens.
He is a prolific and well known greek rapper. His career began at around the same time that hip-hop began in Greece and despite the trials and tribulations that he believes that the scene went through, he has managed to add to and help raise it higher. What differentiates him from other rappers is, in his own words, “His infectious positivity and the way he makes a crowd think while they are having a good time.”
He and his friends started listening and creating hip-hop when he was 16 years old. He was inspired by his older brother and his friends. They learned music through sampling. His influences were mainly American hip-hop acts.
Simplicity and immediacy are the traits that characterize his music, which frequently combines hip-hop and rebetiko, utilizing traditional instruments and sounds from Asia Minor cultures alongside samples.
He has collaborated with many artists from the scene such as Guru, Taki Tsan, Gelo, Rodes, Midenistis, Taraksias, Ypocthonios, DJ ALX, Stigma Neolaios, MC Yinka, Eversor, 12os Pithikos and has been a part of Alpha Gamma, Tigre Sporakia and Skoteini Pleura, Imam Baildi.
Eisvoleas & The Tedd's
After 15 years dedicated to the making of music, Greek rapper Eisvoleas forms a new band: The Tedd’s
The Band emerged from the underground music scene of Athens, Greece in 2014, jamming along to new, original tracks and also re-interpreting their frontman’s, veteran rapper Eisvoleas, classics at various clubs and stages around the country.
The nine strong line-up contains the necessary ingredients for a kicking strong brew. Vocals, guitar, keys and synths, 3 piece horn section, traditional Greek instruments, a solid rhythm section and everything layered with cuts and scratches dropped by DJ Cutbrawl.
Compositions begin from collective jams reflecting the band’s varied and mixed influences. Musical gourmands will detect strong flavors of Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Blues, Rembetiko and some more delicate notes of Ska, Dub, Folk and Psychedelics. The same non-recipe is followed for the Tedd’s live shows which are free, active and fun reflecting the band’s outlook on music and their collective experiences.
“After the last album I wanted to take a 90 degree turn, to mingle and experiment with live players and different instruments. I wanted to find a new perspective and a new timbre, one that is not easy to categorize. Some may call it hip-hop while others may call it blues, and they will both be right…
Music is universal and limitless and if it was a place it would be a planet, where one can travel all over and also dig deep to reach the core, a great place to explore.”

With the help of DJ Alx they make their first video “Kane Piso” in 2005 and then in 2007 they release the album “Polemistes Zois” which was so well received by the fans that it was considered a classic a mere 2,5 years after its release.
Tigre Sporakia
In 2003, Eisvoleas and, founding member of ZN, Taki Tsan form the group “Tigre Sporakia”. It was a completely different project, more funky, hardcore and comical. They released two albums, “Theoria Kai Praksi” (2003) and “Onoma Kai Pragma” (2011).
Solo
2004-2009 - The first seven
His first solo album was released in 2004 under the title “Mono Agapi”. After that comes a tsumani of six albums, “Tropos Zois” (2004), “Me Tis Pantes” (2005), “Chalarouita” (2007), “Alithies Afthormites” (2007), “To Ntalaveri Me To Gnisio” (2007) and “Kali Phasi” (2009).
2010 – “Gege”
In 2010 a completely different album , called “Gege”, is released. It represents the new, Greek reality and it does so in a unique style and with a unique sound. For the first time there is an unmistakable flavor of rempetiko in the music. Eisvoleas calls the style “Rap-betiko”. Traditional greek instruments like bouzouki and baglamas are used all over the recordings.
2012 – “O mythos katarreei”
After two years of absence from discography, Liakos returns stronger than ever. In 2012 he releases the album “O Mythos Katarreei”. The album closely follows the reality of the times we are living in. It attempts to dispel the myths that certain people surrounded themselves with for all those years, the myth of the music industry, TV and it’s presenters with their fake and immaculate profiles. The whole album is a collaboration with beatmaker Eversor.
